The Metabolic Approach Pillars

The pillars of the metabolic method are: movement, nutrition, emotion, and connection to nature.  A personal and unique plan will be adapted for each patient, which is based on comprehensive tests, assessment of the situation and address to what needs strengthening and change

Diet and Nutritions

Different nutrition plans suit different individuals and types of cancer. The nutrition plan, which includes dietary supplements, vitamins, and sometimes medications (such as antiparasitic drugs like Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine, or diabetes drugs like Metformin), is customized after a thorough interview and a detailed examination of extensive blood tests. Emphasis on nutrition is critical for the success of the treatment, as "we are what we eat."

The foundation of the metabolic diet is a ketogenic diet – a diet based on proteins and vitamins, avoiding carbohydrates and sugars. Carbohydrates and sugars are the "food" for cancer cells, and the goal is to starve them without harming the body's healthy cells. From this ketogenic basis, I make individual adjustments for each person with the emphasis on what to eat more of, what to reduce, and of course, adjustments for vegans.

In addition to nutrition and supplements, there are cases where I recommend additional treatments such as an oxygen chamber, hyperthermia, blood drainage, detoxification in various ways (such as an infrared sauna), and more.

For example, for a patient with glioblastoma, I recommended a combination of Vitamin C infusion therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy while in deep ketosis. This treatment has been proven to be particularly effective for this type of cancer by the renowned researcher Dr. Seyfried.

Movement and Sport

When the body is in motion, the cells receive oxygen, metabolism is improved, and mood is elevated – all of which contribute to the body's fight against cancer. Exercise and sports are an important component of the treatment, and here too, I provide personalized recommendations according to the patient, their physical abilities at the stage of the disease they are in, and their interest in different types of sports.

For example, for a patient who came to me after using aromatase inhibitors and steroids, I recommended strengthening the bones that might weaken from the medication through daily use of a trampoline (rebounder) or a vibe plate. Additionally, I suggested wearing ankle weights while jumping or standing on the vibe plate and taking long walks with ankle weights and wrist weights.

Nature

Connection to nature is part of the holistic treatment. Exposure to the sun, greenery, and the sea balances the mind, reduces stress levels, increases vitamin D levels in the body, and helps the body's fight against cancer. In Japan, there is a practice called "forest bathing" – walking in the forest disconnected from daily reality and fully present in the sensory experience of the forest. Dr. Qing Li, a professor at the Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, found in his research that after "forest bathing," there is an increase in the number of natural killer cells responsible for eliminating cancer cells, meaning a significant improvement in the immune system!

For example, for a patient who suffered from high stress, I recommended grounding walks (barefoot) on the beach along the waterline at least three times a week. The patient felt the calming effect of this practice.

Emotional Support

Every disease has a mental source, including cancer. It can be a trauma that manifested in the body, prolonged stress, or depression. In holistic treatment, we try to understand the emotional source of the disease and address it. The recommendations for treatment will be accordingly. Often, I refer to somatic emotional treatments to understand what is happening in the subconscious. Sometimes I emphasize connection to a community that will provide meaning and belonging to the patient, sometimes family constellation, or focused trauma treatment (such as EMDR), or treatment to calm the mind like meditation, CBD oil, and more.

For example, for a patient who repressed anger and did not express it, I recommended using a homeopathic remedy that brings out the expression of anger and also recommended support from a somatic therapist.
